An old “Letters” mail front plate for a door.

Designed for a front door to push letters through a slot,the text piece pushes in with a hinge and spring so it opens and closes.

Not so popular now in the age of parcel delivery although it’s a lovely piece for an old fashioned home (or modern).

The holes for the screws are square which is unusual,would still look good with the right screws or is a great as a decorative thing too.

Approximately 105mm high x 180mm long,it is old and was possibly shiny once,the greenish patina suggests that the metal is pressed copper.
